I remember when I was 13 in Juvenile Hall... Oxnard PD picked up a 15 year old kid from Tijuana and held him in my unit awaiting deportation. He crossed on his own and was homeless, with no family in the states. And I remember his face. It was hard. Like someone who's been through a war. And the reality is that he was in a war. This is a fucking war when they kill our people at the border and in our neighborhoods. When the only option is subjugation. When ICE vans roll through our fucking streets. Many people who haven't had to face these realities don't seem to understand that we live in a state that is actively committing genocide.
lyrics
I feel the pulse of a hundred thousand corazones. I feel the pulse of mothers forced into exodus and hunted every step along the way. The pulse of a desperate child snuffed out. Quince años y la cara de Viejo. He wore is desperation, he wore his trials on his face. Diez años sin regresar. Diez años sin hogar. There’s no solace waiting here. There’s no smiles waiting here. There’s no promise waiting here. There’s no life waiting here. Solamente Guerra.
